A graphic site survey is a specialized assessment conducted to ensure that large-scale visual branding—such as wall murals, window film, or office signage—is designed, produced, and installed accurately

The Graphic Site Survey Process

 

1. Pre-Survey Planning: Review existing floor plans, satellite imagery, or architectural drawings to identify key branding opportunities.

2. Precise Measurements: Technicians measure wall dimensions, glass panels, and ceiling heights to the millimeter to ensure a perfect fit for printed materials.

3. Substrate & Surface Analysis: Testing the surface material (e.g., painted drywall, brick, glass) to determine which adhesive or vinyl type will bond properly.

4. Visual Documentation: Capturing high-quality photos from multiple angles to identify obstructions like light switches, fire alarms, or thermostats that the design must accommodate.

5. Environmental Assessment: Evaluating lighting (natural and artificial) to prevent glare and checking for temperature fluctuations that could affect long-term graphic durability.

6. Installation Feasibility: Assessing site access, such as the need for ladders or lifts.

7. Final Report & Design Mockup: Compiling all data into a survey report that designers use to create accurate "to-scale" proofs for client approval.
